Reverend - Reeves Gabrels Spacehawk, Purple Burst, Semi-Hollow Design Taken to Another Level!

The second signature Reverend from The Cure’s guitarist Reeves Gabrels (formerly with David Bowie, Tin Machine) takes semi-hollow design to another level. The highly resonant body coupled with the revolutionary Railhammer Alnico Grande Bridge/Hyper Vintage Neck pickups make for a versatile and uniquely responsive guitar that handles everything from woody clean to high gain mean. Unique features include: forearm contour, sealed body for controlled feedback, on-off toggle switch, custom soft-touch tremolo spring, and push-pull phase switch (in the tone control) to push the sonic boundaries. Finally, an innovative semi-hollow for cutting edge players!

REVEREND SPACEHAWK CUSTOM PICKUPS

Reverend designs their own proprietary custom pickups to achieve the best tonal match with the instrument. Reverend pickups are also specifically designed for each position, for balanced volume and tone when switching between pickups.

ALNICO GRANDE BRIDGE

Modern vintage would be the best way to describe this pickup. It has a warm, lightly compressed attack thanks to the alnico 5 magnet, but we wound it hotter than vintage for a thick, round sound and excellent sustain. Perfect for the player who wants higher output and fatter tone than the Hyper Vintage offers, but prefers a less aggressive upper-mid / treble attack than the Chisel or Anvil. Big old school tone with extra grease! And like all Railhammers, the extra clarity on the wound strings means they also work great with low tuned guitars.

Model: ALG-B
K Ohms: 15.0
Wire Gauge: 43
Magnet: Alnico 5

HYPER VINTAGE NECK

Finally, a neck humbucker that doesn't turn to mush when you dig in hard, even with chords! We took the vintage PAF recipe and dragged it kicking and screaming into the new millennium.

Warm, open, lightly compressed, with chimey highs. Has a softer mid attack, and overall more open tone than the Chisel. Perfect for blues, classic rock, old school metal and punk, that "brown" sound, or for any player looking for a vintage vibe but wants the Railhammer advantage. And like all Railhammers, the extra clarity on the wound strings means they also work great with low tuned guitars.

Model: HVI-N
K Ohms: 7.5
Wire Gauge: 42
Magnet: Alnico 5

BASS CONTOUR

This passive bass roll-off is great for tightening up the low end, or re-voicing the pickups. It can make a humbucker sound like a single-coil, or give a P-90 that classic twang. Variable pickup voicing at your fingertips!

REVEREND SPACEHAWK PIN-LOCK TUNERS

A thumbwheel under the tuner pushes a steel pin up through the post, locking the string in place for exceptional tuning stability and super-fast string changes. Also, the posts are custom height, eliminating the need for a second string tree.

GRAPHITE NUT

We use a graphite impregnated nut on all Reverend instruments. Graphite reduces friction, allowing the strings to easily slide through the nut slots, improving tuning stability.

KORINA BODY

Korina (aka White Limba) is a medium-light weight wood, highly prized for consistency and tonal qualities. Often found in boutique and vintage instruments, all Reverends feature Korina bodies. A highly resonant wood, Korina is a key factor to producing our lively, responsive instruments that are rich in harmonics.

In 1997, working out of a small East Detroit garage rented from a local bicycle shop, Joe Naylor founded Reverend Guitars. Drawing heavily on an industrial design background, professional luthiery training and years as a guitar repairman, his guitars and basses quickly had people talking. A few years later Ken Haas joined the company as a booth demonstrator and followed his passion for Reverend to become CEO. Today, Joe remains Head of Design and Zack Green (Chief Set-Up Guru since 1999), still signs the headstock back of every guitar that comes through the shop. Over the years, Reverend has established a refreshing yet practical design approach, melding player-friendly features with timeless styling, outstanding tone and superb build quality to attract musicians of all levels and genres.
