Meet BA “Boot” Ferguson…

I grew up in El Paso, TX, and my passion for guitars started when I was about fourteen years old. One day, my mother, aunt, and grandmother all pitched in to buy my first guitar. As I learned how to play, I couldn't help tinkering with the thing. One guitar lead to another, and I eventually met a gifted luthier, Baron Martin, who took me under his wing. I naturally had a love for history and "Barry" was very good at incorporating this into his teaching. After a few years of apprenticeship, I moved with my wife to Hartsville, SC, and started my own business.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of restoring a lot of interesting guitars. Many of those guitars have surpassed their makers for generations. Some with such detail, you can't help but appreciate every aspect of this tedious craft. It is with that appreciation and love, that I began making my own guitars.

In a world full of "disposable" instruments, I decided that I wanted to create something that would surpass me for generations to come. Something that would speak of my love for this craft and could be handed down. I'm in the business of building heirlooms. Every guitar that comes out of my shop plays as if it is playing you, and part of that is because I put a lot of thought and heart into each one, always thinking ahead. These creations are very personal to me.

I say that "love is handmade" because, it starts with love, and is only love when it is put into action. It is the act of turning nothing into something, and I enjoy doing just that every day. I use routers, saws, and other machines, but even with that, I get to know every nook and cranny of that particular instrument by the time it is done. It is always such a joy. I absolutely love what I do, and my hope is that it shows.

Here at DudeBroSki, we feel the craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail and pure soul put into BA Ferguson guitars are second to none. There are few opportunities to purchase a brand new instrument with this much character and class. Contact us today to arrange a private showing. It will redefine your idea of what a high-end guitar should be. Love is truly handmade.
