Reverend Reeves Gabrels Dirtbike Signature Guitar, Violin Brown

Resonant tone, excellent playability, and versatility sums up the Reverend Reeves Gabrels Dirtbike signature guitar. The Dirtbike is Gabrels’ first single-pickup signature model—which corresponds with his desire for “freedom in the form of speed and power stripped down to its essentials." The Joe Naylor-designed Railhammer Gabrels signature pickup is aggressively articulate with a pleasing midrange attack that’s not shrill or too thin. The Master Tone is voiced to produce warm vocal-esque timbres when you tamp it down. Not to mention the "magical" Bass Contour can dial in some very shimmery colors that are especially expressive for clean tones.

The Wilkinson Trem on the Dirtbike is a blast to play with. Unlike other Wilkinson Tremolo's found on Revered Guitars, this one is routed in the back for more movement. Couple this with the Reverend locking tuners and you have a bonified rock-n-roll machine capable of nuanced vibrato to full on dive bombs, and it stays in tune! If you've ever seen Reeves play live, you know what we're talking about.

Here is what Reeve's has to say about the Dirtbike:

"what i think is cool about this guitar is the fact that i have a whole ongoing story /reason/explanation of always having a no frills simple, fast and blue thing to zip around on that threads thru my whole life. this guitar is a continuation of that sense of freedom in the form of speed and power stripped down to its essentials. and reverend guitars matched the light metallic blue color of both of its two wheeled predecessors. to me a single pickup guitar with a trem is just like my 1966 schwinn stingray with the extension spring on the front wheel or my 1971 honda dirtbike w/the raised front fender and slightly extended fork. it's a guitar with enough agility that it will let you grab air and do wheelies and the power to leave some rubber on the asphalt in front of the neighbor’s house. and, really, that's all you need. did i mention it's blue?" -Reeves Gabrels

Well this one is Violin Brown which we think is classy, understated and has a cool vintage vibe.

Reverend designs their own proprietary custom pickups to achieve the best tonal match with the instrument. Reverend pickups are also specifically designed for each position, for balanced volume and tone.

A tonal domination collaboration. Based on our Alnico Grande platform, we turned up the heat on the windings for more sustain, thicker tone, and a slight "cocked wah pedal" effect. This one has distinct tone that drives hard and cuts through the mix like a knife, even with heavy overdrive. Of course, Reeves demanded that it kills it clean as well, which it does because it’s a Railhammer!

Model: RG-B

All Reverend guitars have a treble bleed circuit, preserving the treble when you roll back the volume control. When you roll back a standard volume control, the tone loses treble and becomes dull sounding. Now you can turn down and still sound great!

Reverend Guitars use caps with a +-10% rating, while a typical cap is +-20%. These caps are made to tighter specifications, so they’re more consistent. Made of polyester, they’re also longer lasting, and less affected by temperature than cheaper ceramic caps. Typically used in expensive boutique guitars.

10% POTS

Reverend Guitars use control pots with a +-10% rating. While a typical pot is +-20%, These pots are built to tighter specifications, making them more consistent. Typically used in expensive boutique guitars, but standard issue in all Reverends.

All Reverends use an upgraded jack by Pure Tone Technologies. A standard jack has single contacts, but the Pure Tone jack has dual contacts for improved grip, audio signal and reliability. The most dependable guitar jack available.

A thumbwheel under the tuner pushes a steel pin up through the post, locking the string in place for exceptional tuning stability and super-fast string changes. Also, the posts are custom height, eliminating the need for a second string tree.

Features include saddles that lock to the baseplate, adjustable arm swing tension, and a push-in/no freeplay arm. Combined with our graphite nut and pin-lock tuners, it stays in tune even under aggressive whammy action.

This innovative claw gives you the option of 3 springs in the middle for a firm tremolo feel, or 2 springs on the outside for a softer feel. The offset hook design lets you switch between 3 or 2 springs, with little or no cumbersome adjustment of the claw needed.

Reverend Guitars use "Boneite," a synthetic bone nut, that is more consistent than natural bone. It reduces friction, allowing the strings to slide through the nut slots smoothly, improving tuning stability.

Korina (aka White Limba) is a medium-light weight wood, highly prized for consistency and tonal qualities. Often found in boutique and vintage instruments, all Reverends feature Korina bodies. A highly resonant wood, Korina is a key factor to producing our lively, responsive instruments that are rich in harmonics.

In 1997, working out of a small East Detroit garage rented from a local bicycle shop, Joe Naylor founded Reverend Guitars. Drawing heavily on an industrial design background, professional luthiery training and years as a guitar repairman, his guitars and basses quickly had people talking. A few years later Ken Haas joined the company as a booth demonstrator and followed his passion for Reverend to become CEO. Today, Joe remains Head of Design and Zack Green (Chief Set-Up Guru since 1999), still signs the headstock back of every guitar that comes through the shop. Over the years, Reverend has established a refreshing yet practical design approach, melding player-friendly features with timeless styling, outstanding tone and superb build quality to attract musicians of all levels and genres.
